Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteering is a great way of increasing your skills, making new friends and helping make a difference.

Here are a few of the opportunities to volunteer with us.

Trustees
We are looking for people from a variety of backgrounds to join our Board of Trustees, help oversee the governance of the charity, and contribute to setting our priorities and activities.
No previous board experience is required.
Commitment is currently 2 hours a month for Board meetings (normally online), and then any additional Task & Finish or sub-projects that you may wish to get involved with.
HMP Mount Playgroup
Nothing is more important than family, this long-running project helps keep these bonds strong. Creating a space of connection that is proven to lower the rate of re-offending and break the cycle of hereditary trauma.
The playgroup operates within the prison itself, so volunteers need to undergo vetting by the prison and have an up-to-date enhanced DBS Check.

Commitment can be agreed with the playgroup manager.
Rural Digital Inclusion
Know your way around an Apple or Android device.
Comfortable setting up apps or filling in online application forms, could you show someone else in a way they may remember?
Help give Digital confidence that can change someone’s world.

Commitment is 2 hours a week when the session is taking place near you.
St Albans Community Garden.
Got a green finger (or just want to have a go?), spend time outside in a wonderful green space, that helps reset the mind and body.

Commitment is as much or as little as you want.
CDA Herts office.
Marketing & Comms
Help us get the message out! Either through Social Media or PR Activities. Your chance to help us get news of what we are up to to the right audiences, this is an exciting time to join us as we are starting to put together our new strategy and explore the use of AI in our marketing efforts.
Commitment 3 hours per week.
